Cherry Cove House

Originally a 1940’s 900 s.f. beach cabin in Rosedale, Gig Harbor, WA this home had been previously added on to over the years to total 3,333 s.f. It was in desperate need of a cohesive makeover and even needed a new driveway! All of the baths, kitchen, and laundry rooms were fully renovated adding new tile, counter tops, cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures.

The main living area floors were olive glazed 4″ thick brick which needed updating but was too costly to remove, so Broadway had the floors ground down to the natural color, filled, and polished. The wood walls were a depressing olive green, and the designer tastefully had them washed with a medium grey color to remove the dated 70’s flair. The slab 70’s doors were painted, and all base trim was replaced with a taller more modern profile.

All electrical and plumbing was updated. The owner wanted gas for a cook top and bedroom fireplace, but there was no access as the house sits on a concrete slab and had no attic clearance. So the Designer brought a gas line in through an over framed ceiling beam.

The doors and window casings were bleached out wood, which the designer stained in dark java and coated with a semi-gloss sealer, to better blend with the black windows. All furnishings were provided by Broadway Design.

The Rich exterior colors in dark chocolate and bronze were added to finish off the Northwest contemporary look. The result? Simply stunning.
